So Friday night, as soon as I saw my pin, I decided to go straight to work! (I used THIS tutorial) You see, I had bought a couple of blocks of local beeswax last year for this project and others. So I was prepared.
Chopping the beeswax in small pieces for melting, was a workout in itself. And I should have used a narrower bowl to melt it in, as it was difficult to dip properly. But it still worked!
And wow did the house smell amazing!
And the glow that I get once I light a candle in it, is amazing!
I decided to go pick some daisies by my front door, to adorn the lanterns, and I must say, the very large daisy, though it was difficult to do, is my favourite!
I can't believe I haven't tried making these sooner! I'll definitely be making these again in the fall to add some beautiful leaves for our nature table.
Making these were relatively simple, yet why did it take me so long to get around to make them? I don't know.
Perhaps, I never felt that I had the time.
Perhaps, when I had time, this project was not on my mind.
But I am sure glad I finally took the time...
I saw something similar but made with chocolate! Can you imagine the dessert possibilities?
ReplyDeleteI know this sounds weird but I want to smell it. I think making it like chocolate would smell even better.
ReplyDeleteActually, you can make chocolate bowls the same way these are made :)
