Happy Earth Day!

I really wanted to celebrate Earth Day this year, but considering we are 5 days away from moving to our new home and are in boxes up to our ears, it doesn't quite seem doable.  But I thought I'd share with you some ideas I had gathered on my Pinterest for today.

Make an Earth Day terrarium!

What better way to spend earth day, than putting your hands in soil and creating a mini plant environment!  This link has some other great ideas, such as making an Earth Day shirt with your kids and adding the year.

Celebrate with the Lorax!

Weather you just read the book, or make some truffula trees, it's a great way to talk to your kids about how to care for the environment and why it's so important.

Have a beautiful lunch celebration!

Why not make a beautiful meal with fresh whole foods that come directly from nature, add a few beautiful flowers to the table and enjoy with some great company!  And if weather permits, why not enjoy it outside?

Make some Earth play dough

It's pretty self explanatory, but would be great activity for smaller children.

Plant a tree

What a beautiful tradition this would be, wouldn't it?  It's one I am considering starting with my kids once we are at our house :)

Wishing you and yours a beautiful Earth Day!

Note: I probably wont post anymore until after the move, but I'll be back as soon as we are somewhat settled and have Internet connected at the new place.  And I promise to show you our soon-to-be new happy place and the beautiful yard that comes with it ;)

Have a great week!

  2. So happy for you! I can feel your excitement! Love the idea of planting a tree every year on Earth Day instead of just on Arbor Day. Wishing you a smooth move, Stephanie! Can't wait to see the new place!
