I live in a small town though, and there are no real arts and craft supply store here. So the other day, instead of driving an hour to go to the city, I hit the gold ol' local dollar store. I picked up some wood beads and some thread, among other things.
I knew right away I wanted to make a necklace for my son. His sister is such a girly girl, she has all kinds of necklaces to play with or wear for real if she wants to. But he had made the remark a few times how he wanted a necklace too... just not a girl one, as he put it.
When I spotted these wood beads, natural colors, blue and red, I knew right away it was going to be for him.
I didn't have quite enough to fill up the lenght of the necklace, so I made knots in between all the beads to add some lenght and voila!
A boy necklace was born!
As you can tell, it made one little boy very happy!
Now I can't wait to get to the city and pick up some supplies to create some more... I have an itch to make some beeswax candles :)
